In a joint operation by Crime Branch Gujarat Police and Military Intelligence (Ahmedabad) an ISI operative has been arrested from Dariapur, Gujarat, who was assisting Ex Pakistan High Commission Official in India to get Indian SIM Cards. The same Ex Pakistan High Commission Official, Shafqat Jatoi, was also involved in causing chaos in Kashmir after Article 370 was abrogated, this was confirmed by NIA (National Investigation Agency ).
The arrest in Dariapur Gujarat
An #ISI agent has been arrested from Dariapur, Ahmedabad in a joint operation by Crime Branch and Military Intelligence (Ahmedabad). Abdul Wahab Pathan, a 72 year old man, was caught for assisting Pakistan High commission in India and providing the Pakistani officer Shafaqat Jatoi, with activated SIMs. He used to take activated SIMs from people looking Pakistani Visa and give the OTPs to the official in Pakistan High commission in India.
Pakistan’s spy agency ISI’s officers were using these numbers to then contact retired as well as serving officers and soldiers to extract information. They had also created fake websites to mislead India soldiers under names: www.ksboard.in, www.desw.in and www.kavach-apps.in.
Abdul had been working for the Pakistan High Commission official between 2017-2019.
The Kashmir Connection
Last year NIA had arrested youth wing leader of Mehbooba Mufti lead PDP party in Kashmir Waheed Ur Rehman Parra. It had come out that Parra had been paid money by Shafqat Jatoi of Pakistan High Commission in India, to create an NGO, which can then be used for causing chaos inside Kashmir. The incident took place after Indian Government had abrogated Article 370.
Parra was arrested in November 25, 2020 by NIA after being questioned over his involvement with terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen. Parra’s name had emerged during the questioning of suspended cop Davinder Singh, who was also arrested after being caught travelling on the national highway with two Hizbul Mujahideen commanders in 2020.
