Pakistan’s ISI Engages with Afghan Opposition in Turkey!

According to pro-Taliban accounts, an ISI delegation is set to visit Turkey, where the ISI chief will hold meetings with leaders of ISIS and the National Resistance Front (NRF).

The pro-Taliban accounts claim that during this meeting, discussions will focus on enhancing coordination and strengthening working relations between opposition factions and the ISIS Khorasan branch.

Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) aims to further expand the ISIS project in the region, establishing several new training centers in Balochistan province to support this objective.

Previously, ISI chief Asim Malik met with several leaders of the Resistance Front in Tajikistan, where discussions included plans to destabilize Afghanistan’s security, gain recognition of the Durand Line as an official border, and improve coordination with ISIS.

Pro-Taliban accounts claim the meeting today in Turkey, the Resistance Front appointed former army chief of staff General Qadam Shah Shaheen to oversee coordination with ISIS. Reports suggest that attacks on Chinese nationals in Tajikistan and Yangi Qala were carried out through collaboration between ISI, the ISIS Khorasan branch, and Qadam Shah Shaheen.

Additionally, several individuals from the caretaker government’s Intelligence Directorate have been arrested in connection with these attacks and are currently under investigation. In response, Afghan security agencies have implemented strict measures to ensure the protection of Chinese nationals.

General Qadam Shah Shahim an Afghan diplomat and former army officer. He served as the Chief of Staff of the Afghan National Army from May 2015 to April 2017 before resigning amid political fallout over the 2017 Camp Shaheen attack.
