A recent report released in 2025, by CCTV, showed a Rocket Force Unit of PLA carrying out an exercise. This is the 635th Brigade (96735th Unit) of the 63rd Base of Rocket Force, stationed in Yuanzhou District, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province.

The DF-10 is a sophisticated ground-launched cruise missile capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional warheads. It was first publicly showcased during the 2009 military parade commemorating the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

With a maximum range of 2,000 kilometers, a circular error probable (CEP) of just 5–10 meters, and an operational payload of 450 kilograms, the DF-10 can effectively target locations across Taiwan and Japan when launched from within China.

Its core technology is derived from the Soviet/Russian Kh-55 subsonic air-launched cruise missile, which China acquired from Ukraine in the 1990s.
