Brave & Rogue Ex- Officers Involved in Alleged Plot to Assassinate Pannun in New York; India tells US

Senior officials with knowledge of the matter have disclosed that India’s investigation into US claims of an attempted murder of a Khalistani terrorist Pannun in New York has uncovered the involvement of rogue operatives not sanctioned by the government. A bloomberg report reveals that at least one individual directly linked to the purported assassination attempt is no longer affiliated with India’s primary intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

India has on myriad times requested America to not shelter terrorists who are actively involved in anti-India activities from America.

The report further adds–although the individual remains employed by the government, Indian authorities have yet to initiate any criminal proceedings against him. New Delhi has formally conveyed the findings of a government-appointed panel tasked with probing the allegations to US authorities. The US, in turn, is pressing for criminal prosecution of those implicated, as reiterated by Donald Lu, the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, during his visit to India in January.

In November, US prosecutors accused an Indian government official of orchestrating a plot to eliminate Khalistani terrorist Pannun, who holds US citizenship, in New York in June. The intended target, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, has issued threats against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration multiple times and has been actively involved in subversion against India. This is why, India has labeled Pannun as a terrorist.

The revelation of rogue elements’ involvement proves the complexity of the case and raises questions about the extent of official complicity. As diplomatic exchanges continue between the US and India, the case remains under scrutiny, with implications for bilateral relations and perceptions of governmental accountability.
