Is ISI behind the Bangladesh Protests?

Thirty-nine people were killed in Bangladesh as the student protests escalated. We had warned that the protests were likely to escalate two weeks ago. With Pakistani terrorist groups becoming increasingly active in Bangladesh, these protests and the student groups’ support for them should be no surprise.

Very recently, terrorist groups began publishing their content in Bangla, targeting audiences in Bangladesh and Bangladeshi migrants in West Bengal. That should tell us a thing or two about the radicalized populace of the country

Reason for protest

Students are protesting against 30% quota for families of freedom fighters

On June 5, High Court reinstated job quota that reserves 30% of civil service posts for children and grandchildren of freedom fighters in Bangladesh Liberation War (1971) against pakistan. The quota system was originally meant to help underrepresented districts and for women who were victimized in the war by Pakistan Army.

The escalation:

The protests escalated after Hasina labeled those opposing the quota as “razakar”. This is a term used for those who allegedly collaborated with the Pakistani army during the 1971 war – prompting more widespread protests. As a result student groups openly began chanting Razakars.

Is it justified?

The protests against quota might appear justified but this is a nefarious plot to trivialize sacrifices of those who fought for BD’s independence from Pakistan’s occupation.

Protestors have put forth the following demands:

~limit the overall reservation to 5% for backward populations and to pass a bill

🔴this amounts to a removal of quota empowering the families of freedom fighters, while retaining quota benefits for physically disabled and tribals.

Why are they so adamantly against the freedom fighters? Your guess is as good as mine.

The Indian subcontinent has become a war-zone– with war in Myanmar, turbulence in Afghanistan, and Chaos in Bangladesh, and Pakistan at the brink of economic disaster.

Reality is: There are MULTIPLE players involved, but Pakistani spy agency is directly involved.

Its a clash between pro-Pakistan student groups vs Awami league supporters.
Protest against QUOTA system– is just an excuse.
