A Civil engineer Serving with Indian Air Force (IAF) Shot Dead

A civil engineer serving with the Indian Air Force (IAF) was fatally shot at his government-provided home in the cantonment region of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in the early hours of Saturday, according to local police.

The victim, 51-year-old SN Mishra, was struck by a bullet in the chest at approximately 3:00 a.m. He was immediately taken to an Army hospital but could not be saved, authorities confirmed.

Police reports indicate that an unidentified individual called out to Mishra from the lawn outside his residence. When Mishra approached the window in response, the perpetrator shot him and then escaped. Officials believe the attacker had a deliberate intent to murder.

Investigators are exploring potential motives, including personal grudges, and are reviewing nearby CCTV recordings for clues. Mishra’s wife and son spoke to the police, explaining how the assailant tricked him into coming to the window before firing the fatal shot.
