Tensions between Iran and the United States have intensified following Iran’s threats to target U.S. military bases in the Middle East. In response, the U.S. has authorized the departure of military dependents from its bases in the region and withdrawn some diplomats and military families, citing heightened security risks. President Donald Trump addressed the situation, stating, “They are being moved out because it could be a dangerous place, and we’ll see what happens.”

Amid these developments, diplomatic efforts continue. U.S. Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff is scheduled to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Oman on June 15, 2025. The talks will focus on Iran’s response to the nuclear deal, a critical issue as both nations navigate the volatile geopolitical landscape.
