CCTv recently released a report saying “A regiment of the Xinjiang Military Region directly hits the training ground: air defense drills test the combat effectiveness of air defense units“. This exercise was carried in Aksai Chin.

This is PLA’s 16th Heavy Combined Regiment (69213 Unit) of the 6th Combined Division of the Xinjiang Military Region. The regiment is stationed on Mengket Road, Yecheng County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang.

Chances are the drill was conducted earlier in Jan this year and the videos were published now.

16th Infantry Regiment of the 6th Mechanized Infantry Division participated in the air defense drill. In 2003 the division was reorganized as the 6th Mechanized Infantry Division. The 16th Motorized Infantry Regiment was reorganized as the Armored Regiment, 6th Mechanized Infantry Division.
