The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for carrying out 21 attacks against Pakistani security forces during the month of February 2025. The militant group, which has been active in the region for years, has also introduced a new mode of communication by releasing a monthly report in the form of a booklet.
For the first time, the BLA has published a detailed booklet outlining its activities over the past month. This report provides insights into the group’s operations and aims to document their actions against the Pakistani military.
According to the report, most of the attacks took place near Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. The province has long been a center of insurgent activity, with separatist groups such as the BLA engaging in armed resistance against the state.
Unlike in previous reports, this edition does not mention any sniper attacks. It remains unclear whether this marks a shift in tactics or if sniper operations were simply absent during the reported period.
The BLA claims that while it carried out 21 attacks, it lost only one of its fighters in the operations. The group has not disclosed further details regarding the nature of the attacks or the extent of damage inflicted on Pakistani forces.
This latest report by the BLA highlights the continued volatility in Balochistan and the persistence of the insurgency in the region. Pakistani authorities have yet to officially respond to the claims made in the booklet
