
In a decisive response to the recent Pahalgam attack, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have demolished the residences of several active terrorists across multiple districts, officials confirmed on Sunday. The operations, conducted over the past few days, target the terror infrastructure in the region, with a total of nine homes linked to terrorists and their associates razed since the deadly attack.
Latest in the video debris of the house of Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Jameel Ahmad Shergojri, that was demolished amid a crackdown on the terror ecosystem in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, in Bandipora district of J&K.
On Saturday night, authorities demolished the house of Adnan Shafi, who joined terrorist ranks in 2024, in Wandina, Shopian district. In Pulwama, the residence of active terrorist Amir Nazir was also destroyed. Additionally, the home of Lashkar-e-Toiba operative Jameel Ahmad Shergojri, active in terrorism since 2016, was razed in Bandipora. Earlier that day, four other homes belonging to suspected militants in South Kashmir were demolished, including those of Shahid Ahmed Kuttey in Shopian’s Chotipora village, Zakir in Kulgam, Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh in Pulwama’s Muran area, and Farooq Teewda in Kalaroos, Kupwara. Sheikh had recently infiltrated the Valley after traveling to Pakistan in 2018, while Teewda, who crossed into Pakistan in the early 1990s, never returned.
On Thursday night, explosions severely damaged the homes of two Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives, Adil Hussain Thokar from Bijbehara, Anantnag, and Asif Sheikh from Tral, Pulwama, both allegedly involved in the Pahalgam attack. Authorities reported that the blasts occurred during a security operation at Sheikh’s residence, where explosives were reportedly stored.

The following is a list of the terrorists’ residences demolished as part of the crackdown:
- Adnan Shafi – Wandina, Shopian district
- Amir Nazir – Pulwama district
- Jameel Ahmad Shergojri – Bandipora district
- Shahid Ahmed Kuttey – Chotipora village, Shopian district
- Zakir – Kulgam district
- Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh – Muran area, Pulwama district
- Farooq Teewda – Kalaroos, Kupwara district
- Adil Hussain Thokar – Bijbehara, Anantnag district
- Asif Sheikh – Tral, Pulwama district
The Pahalgam attack, which took place on Tuesday in Baisaran, a popular tourist destination, claimed 26 lives, primarily tourists from other Indian states. The incident has heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to vow that the perpetrators would be pursued relentlessly.
According to police 16 to 18 local militants, affiliated with various terror groups, remain active in the region. The ongoing demolitions are part of a broader crackdown aimed at dismantling the terror network and restoring stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
