Pakistan calls for a Bloc that includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China and Pakistan After discussion on expansion of CPEC to Afghanistan

China, Pakistan and Taliban agree to extend China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan
Wang Yi, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Amir Khan Mottaki, the foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, and the Taliban, met in Beijing. The meeting discussed regional security and economic cooperation, and agreed to expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry wrote in a press release that an informal trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, and the Taliban, Wang Yi, was held on Wednesday, 21st may, 2025.
According to the press release, the ministers view trilateral cooperation as a vital platform for promoting regional security and economic connectivity.
They also exchanged views on increasing diplomatic engagement, strengthening communications, and taking practical steps to boost trade, infrastructure, and development as key drivers of shared prosperity.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry says that in this meeting, all three officials emphasized their shared commitment to countering terrorism and strengthening stability and development in the region.
It has also been agreed that the sixth trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, and the Taliban will be held in Kabul at a mutually agreed-upon time.

Ishaq Dar calls for a Bloc that includes– Afghanistan, bangladesh, China and Pakistan

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Thursday that Pakistan should move forward by forming “blocs with Afghanistan, China and Bangladesh.” The Pakistani foreign minister did not provide details on the type of alliance, whether political, military or economic.

Referring to Pakistan’s recent tensions with the Taliban, Mr. Dar said that relations between the two sides have been cold for several years, but he recently visited Afghanistan and met with the entire Taliban leadership circle, and during his trip to China, he also met with officials of the group.

Sama News Network, which published Mr. Dar’s statements, reflected some of his remarks about the recent conflict between India and Pakistan.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister’s statements about forming a coalition with Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban, China, and Bangladesh come at a time when Pakistani officials are unhappy with the Taliban’s stance in Pakistan’s recent conflict with India.

According to Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, the Taliban and Israel were the two parties in the world that supported India. The Pakistani Defense Minister said in a pompous tone that Islamabad had borne the brunt of international pressure and accusations for years for supporting the Taliban, but now the group has sided with Israel and India.

However, relations between Islamabad and the Taliban in Kabul are improving, as the Chinese foreign minister has said. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently said that Pakistan and the Taliban have agreed to send ambassadors to each other’s countries soon.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry wrote in a statement on Wednesday, May 21, that the Taliban and Pakistan expressed their desire to upgrade diplomatic relations.

Currently, diplomatic relations between the Taliban and Pakistan are at the chargé d’affaires level. Obaidur Rehman Nizamani is the chargé d’affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Kabul, and Sardar Ahmad Shakib is the chargé d’affaires of the Taliban embassy in Islamabad.
