In a significant development, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has released Ehsanullah, an employee of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), after holding him captive for five months. Ehsanullah was among 16 PAEC employees abducted by the TTP in January from Lakki Marwat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Of those kidnapped, eight were working on sensitive nuclear projects for the PAEC.

Following successful negotiations, Ehsanullah was safely handed over to local tribal elders, marking a positive resolution to his ordeal.
