Pakistan Atomic Energy Employee Released by TTP After Five Months

In a significant development, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has released Ehsanullah, an employee of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), after holding him captive for five months. Ehsanullah was among 16 PAEC employees abducted by the TTP in January from Lakki Marwat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Of those kidnapped, eight were working on sensitive nuclear projects for the PAEC.

Following successful negotiations, Ehsanullah was safely handed over to local tribal elders, marking a positive resolution to his ordeal. The release highlights the role of tribal mediation in securing the freedom of captives in the region. Further details regarding the negotiations or the status of other abducted employees remain undisclosed.
