~Inmate Underwent Routine Check-Up at Safdarjung Hospital, Test Results Normal

Tihar Jail authorities have refuted social media rumors about the health of incarcerated Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, confirming that his condition is stable and he is receiving proper medical care.

Shabir Ahmad Shah, a prominent Kashmiri separatist leader, is currently incarcerated in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, where he has been held since his arrest in July 2017 by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case, followed by charges in a terror funding case by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2019.

In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer to the Director General of Prisons, Tihar Jail, New Delhi, as reported by JKNS, it was clarified that, “Certain rumors are circulating on social media claiming a critical health condition for inmate Mr. Shabir Ahmad Shah, son of Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Shah.”

The statement further noted, “The inmate has been consistently provided with all necessary medical attention, and his health remains stable. On June 26, 2025, he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, for an OPD consultation regarding lower urinary tract symptoms and was admitted for further evaluation.”

Officials confirmed that Shah’s test results were normal, and he continues to receive appropriate medical treatment at the hospital.
