Hizbul terrorist Nazir Ahmed Involved In Temple Attack is Dead

One of the well known members of Hizbul Mujahideen/HM (headed by terrorist Syed Salahuddin) is dead. As per reports terrorists Nazir Ahmed, a senior commander of HM, died in a hospital in Lahore, Pakistan.

As per the information available on Nazir Ahmed, he had exfiltrated to Pakistan in 2001, where he joined the proscribed terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and later became associated with the Jammu Kashmir Gaznavi Force (JKGF). After moving to Pakistan, Nazir Ahmed was apparently living in Muzaffarabad.

As recently as 2023, he was involved in a grenade attack on a temple in Surankote, J&K. The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir filed a chargesheet in connection with the grenade attack on a temple in Surankote that occurred on November 15, 2023. The chargesheet was filed against two individuals namely Abdul Aziz, son of Late Abdul Rehman, resident of Hari Safeda, Surankote, District Poonch, and Nazir Ahmed alias Naziroo alias Ali Khan, a Pakistan-based terrorist who also hails from Hari Safeda, Surankote.

Later reports revealed that the SIA investigation revealed a broader conspiracy by the Pakistan-sponsored Hizbul Mujahideen to destabilise Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was designed to spread terror, incite communal tensions, and disrupt public order.

Pahalgam Attack which took place in on 22 April’25 was also done with the same intention. Albeit, this time India decided to lower the threshold of war to terrorists attacks. Soon on May 4 Op Sindoor targeted terror camps inside Pakistan.

Senior commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Master Nazir Ahmed, passed away at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Lahore on July 21. Though the exact reason of death is not confirmed yet.
