Masood Azhar, the founder of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and a UN-designated terrorist with longstanding ties to elements in Pakistan, is reportedly in poor health. Recent audio messages of Masood Azhar, released yesterday as ramadan ends proves that over the past few months, Masood Azhar is showing clear signs of deteriorating physical condition.

Should Masood Azhar pass away, his brother Rauf Asghar Azhar is widely expected to assume leadership of the JeM terror group.

The original audio clip in question was approximately 21 minutes long; twe have released only a short excerpt. This particular message was released shortly before Eid al-Fitr 2026. Masood Azhar has a pattern of issuing audio statements ahead of significant religious or symbolic occasions.

In the 21 mins long audio Masood Azhar was heard coughing repeatedly. Also he can be heard asking his cadre to pray for him.

Earlier, in May 2025 following Operation Sindoor, another audio attributed to him was made public by our channel in which he also appeared noticeably weak and unwell.”
