In Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a chilling account of militant recruitment has come to light, exposing the operations of banned terror groups and igniting public anger. A journalist based in PoK has revealed that Habib Tahir, a terrorist killed by Indian forces on July 28, 2024, during Operation Mahadev in Dachigam, was recruited by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) proxy, Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD). The revelation has fueled outrage in Koiyaan village, near Khai Gala in Rawalakot, where villagers physically confronted a local recruiter during Habib’s absentee funeral prayers.
Recruiter’s name: Rizwan Anees, JuD recruiter (Jamaat Ud Dawa/ JuD is a proxy of Lashkar e Tayiba/ LeT)
Habib Tahir, recruited as a student through the Jammu Kashmir Student Liberation Front (JKSLF) in PoK, was radicalized and sent across the border by JuD, a group internationally recognized as a terrorist organization. His death in Dachigam, the same location where three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack were eliminated, is a proof of the cross-border infiltration orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror groups.

During Habib’s funeral prayers in Koiyaan, villagers vented their fury on Rizwan Anees, identified as the JuD recruiter responsible for enlisting Habib. Anees was apparently in the village with other JuD men and they were carrying weapons. Reports indicate that Anees was severely beaten by the villagers, reflecting growing local resentment against militant recruitment.
Later villagers lodged a complaint in the police station against men with weapons being allowed into villages.

But it doesn’t end here.
Another picture shows Junaid Bhat accompanying Habib tahir.
Junaid Bhat, who was spotted in PoK alongside a young Habib Tahir. Bhat, a Lashkar operative, was one of the perpetrators of the brutal Gagangir attack on October 20, 2024, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, which claimed seven lives, including five migrant laborers, one local Kashmiri worker, and a Kashmiri doctor. Bhat himself was neutralized by Indian forces in Dachigam in December 2024, further linking the region to a network of terror activities.
These incidents are a proof a disturbing pattern: terror groups like JuD and LeT, allegedly operating with impunity in Pakistan, recruit and radicalize young individuals, often students, before deploying them for violent operations in India.
Three things that these incidents prove
1. All the terrorists infiltrated from Pakistan
2. They were recruited through terror groups. Both JuD and LeT are recognised as terror groups internationally.
3. Pakistan deserves to be BLACKLISTED by FATF.
